Where should I go now for a decent PDF reader?Īs for macOS version of PDF Expert app, it seems that you’re using the app on Mac computer with the discrete GPU which is automatically enabled when you’re using the app and which consumes your Mac’s energy. It's always among the "using significant energy" list even in the background and nothing is being downloaded or refreshed. On MacOS, it consumes so much energy, and I don't understand why. I complained and they suggested I use the Readdle Early Access versions, which I did, and it didn't improve. And it's not about the device, it performs worse on iPhone XS than it did on my iPad Air several years ago. It crashes when I navigate through the iCloud folders, where none of my files show up if not downloaded on the device. It freezes when I scroll a few pages down a 8MB coloured PDF. On iOS, it just freezes and crashes out so often. And never have I ever been more disappointed by PDF Expert's lack of performance since the past last year or so. I've been using Readdle products since the beginning.
